Anticipated Lecturer Positions 2012-2013

A Lecturer is a ten-month, full-time employee who teaches 24 credits per academic year and provides student and learning support services during the assigned periods. The Lecturer holds a strong commitment to teaching; maintains office and advising hours for students; actively participates in the university community; and does related work as required. This is a non-tenure track position that may be renewed on an annual basis. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Courses may be taught at the Union campus and/or the Ocean County College campus in Toms River, New Jersey or other locations as indicated below. Positions are effective September 1, 2012.
Robert Busch School of Design
To teach undergraduate studio and lecture classes in the Bachelor of Industrial Design (BID) degree program including drawing and rendering; product design studios; design theory; materials and production methods; and internship supervision. Additionally, the candidate could assist with or lead the coordination of the Industrial Design program.
Qualifications: Candidate should be well versed in Photoshop and SolidWorks. Master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level required. Master’s degree in Industrial Design (MID) or a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Industrial Design and three to five years of professional industrial design experience preferred.

School of General Studies (Two Positions)
To teach General Education foundation courses in Mathematics.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level required.
