Additional Anticipated Lecturer Positions 2012-2013

A Lecturer is a ten-month, full-time employee who teaches 24 credits per academic year and provides student and learning support services during the assigned periods. The Lecturer holds a strong commitment to teaching; maintains office and advising hours for students; actively participates in the university community; and does related work as required. This is a non-tenure track position that may be renewed on an annual basis. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Courses may be taught at the Union campus and/or the Ocean County College campus in Toms River, New Jersey or other locations as indicated below. Positions are effective September 1, 2012.
Department of Special Education and Literacy
Special Education - to teach courses in the Special Education Program, primarily at Kean Ocean and to provide program advisement to new, transfer and continuing students.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Special Education, public school teaching certificate in Special Education and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post- secondary level required. Computer literacy, knowledge of special education and an expert in learning disabilities, working with families and strategies for differentiation ofinstruction in inclusive classrooms is essential.

School of Management, Marketing and International Business
Management -to teach Management courses in support of undergraduate programs in Management and other business disciplines including organizational behavior, human resource management, entrepreneurship and business strategy. The ability to teach courses in other business disciplines, while not required, is desirable. Candidate will teach at the Ocean campus and non-teaching hours will be devoted to advising and providing other support services to Kean Ocean students.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level required. A minimum of two years of teaching experience in a college environment is preferred.

Department of Mathematics
Mathematics - to teach freshman level College Algebra and Precalculus classes.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education or closely related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level required. Master’s degree in Mathematics and minimum of three years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred.
