All open faculty positions are ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignments at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective September 1, 2012 unless otherwise indicated. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Courses are taught at the Union campus but some positions may include assignments at Ocean County College in Toms River, New Jersey or other locations.


All faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college and university level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. All positions are subject to availability of funds, due to financial exigencies.


College of Business and Public Management

School of Management, Marketing and International Business

Management (Assistant/Associate)

To teach courses in operations and supply chain management, primarily at the undergraduate level; to advise students, conduct research and provide service to the university. Candidate may teach at both the Union and Ocean campuses. The ability to teach statistics or MIS in addition to operations is highly desirable.


Qualifications: Doctorate in Supply Chain Management or a related field from an AACSB- or EQUIS-accredited program and a clearly established research agenda with some demonstration of success in scholarship required; ABD considered with completion date by September 1, 2012. Several recent peer-reviewed publications and teaching experience is preferred. The College of Business and Public Management is actively pursuing AACSB accreditation – only applicants who qualify as “AQ” status according to AACSB standards will be considered.

Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Health
Athletic Training (Assistant/Associate)

This position requires the ability to teach lecture and laboratory courses in Athletic Training at the sophomore, junior and senior levels. Responsibilities include placement and evaluation of students in field experiences, assessment of student proficiencies, student advisement and ongoing program accreditation work.


Qualifications: Doctorate in Athletic Training or related field; BOC Certification; NJ Athletic Trainer's License or eligibility; experience in athletic training skill evaluation; and clinical supervision experience required. ABD considered with completion date by September 1, 2012. Familiarity with the CAATE accreditation process is preferred.

Department of Special Education and Literacy *Search Revised*

Special Education (Assistant/Associate) - Autism Studies with Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification

To concentrate on all aspects of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Teaching assignment at the undergraduate and graduate levels will include use of Applied Behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral interventions for home, school and community and application of Assistive Technology for individuals with developmental disabilities including autism. Other duties include development of a BCBA program and scholarship and research in special education.

College of Visual and Performing Arts

Robert Busch School of Design

To teach undergraduate studio and lecture courses; develop a research and/or creative scholarship program that includes refereed publications, scholarly presentations and grantsmanship appropriate for Assistant Professor rank; seek external funding; assist the Program Coordinator in the development of a Master’s Program in Sustainable/Environmental Design; and engage in teaching methodologies, extracurricular activities, research issues and departmental service that support Kean University’s Vision 2020 agenda.


Qualifications: Master’s degree with significant professional experience required. MFA/MA of Arch/Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Interior Design or related field; previous teaching experience at the college level; and NCIDQ certification and/or LEED status preferred. Professional practice experience and interest and strong technical skills in REVET, 3D Studio Max and Animation is highly desirable.

Department of Graduate Management Studies

International Management (Assistant/Associate)

To teach graduate courses in both the Global MBA and Executive MBA options. The candidate must have a strong focus and background in International Business/Global Management. The new faculty is expected to be active in expanding the department’s global network to new regions with priority given to South America and Africa. Preference will be given to applicants that can demonstrate a research and teaching record at the graduate level in the areas of International HR Management, Cross Cultural Management or Global Leadership.
