Home of the Cougars
The student-athletes who participate in the 13 men’s and women’s varsity sports at Kean work as hard preparing for their classes as any in the country. As a charter member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, Kean offers its student-athletes the opportunity to compete in what is perhaps the best Division III conference in America.
Over the last five seasons, seven different teams have earned bids to the NCAA Division III tournament and have captured conference titles. This past spring, the baseball team returned to the NCAA Division III World Series for the sixth time in the last seven years. In just its third year as an intercollegiate program, the men’s volleyball team captured their second consecutive Skyline Conference Championship as the Cougars advanced to the NCAA Division III Men’s Volleyball Championship for the second straight year. In the fall, the women’s soccer team picked up their second straight Eastern College Athletic Conference Metro title, after earning their first-ever championship in 2012.
In 2007, the baseball team marched through the NCAA tournament to win the NCAA Division III National Championship, the first national title in program history and second in school history, joining the 1992 men’s soccer team as the nation’s finest.
