The 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification at Kean University is offered at both the Union and Ocean campuses through the School of Health
and Human Performance. The certification is awarded through Yoga Alliance and can be obtained while taking the Yoga Studies Minor or taken on its own. The RYT will provide students the knowledge and insight needed to teach yoga as a career or to use yoga as a tool when working with clients. The certification will support professionals in various fields such as physical therapists, recreational therapists, occupational therapists, personal fitness trainers, athletic trainers, mental health professionals, educators and more.
This program is open to both Kean and Non-Kean students. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. A college degree and/or transcripts are not requirements but students should be equipped and prepared to handle the challenging course load. Yoga experience is preferred but not required.
